Spice World Arena Tour

Screen content for the Spice Girls' Spice World reunion tour, playing to stadium audiences across the UK and Ireland.
Project Details
Spice World 2019 marked the return of one of the most iconic pop acts of the past three decades, playing stadiums across the UK and Ireland. The visual world was created by Studio Moross, as part of a core creative team led by Aries Moross and show creative director Lee Lodge, with a brief to honour the group's legacy while bringing in a refreshed identity for a new era.
Within that framework I developed screen content for If U Can't Dance, Something Kinda Funny, The Last Waltz, Too Much and 2 Become 1, working across 3D development, timeline edits and compositing alongside 3D artists Therese Detje and Rose Pilkington and motion designer Linus Kraemer. I worked extensively on Say You'll Be There with Aries Moross, who designed stained-glass illustrations referencing the original music video, which I translated into dimensional screen content for the live show.
I was then invited onsite for two weeks of rehearsals at Cardington Studios in Bedford, where the audio and production were still evolving. I updated content across many tracks in line with the changing audio and refined the transitional sequences, the moments that bridge major staging shifts and costume changes, keeping the visuals moving across a stadium-scale show running to timecode.

Insight
The brief was to honour the legacy and move it forward, and Say You'll Be There captured that. Aries Moross designed stained-glass illustrations drawn from the song's original nineties music video, and I built them into dimensional screen content for the live stage, a piece of the group's history rebuilt at stadium scale. Across the rest of the show, the work had to lock to choreography, costume and staging while holding momentum, designed less to be watched on its own than to move with everything happening on stage.
The production formed part of a record-breaking reunion tour, grossed over $78 million across 13 sold-out stadium dates and was the group's first stadium tour, reaffirmed the Spice Girls’ legacy.
