Project Details

London based artists Dream Wife asked us if we would create 80's B-movie inspired VFX for the pop punk trio's track Fire. Filmed in Iceland, the group wanted to explore a supernatural quest, bringing together arcane rocks that have sorcerous powers, possessing their car and transporting it into a different dimension.

I created the VFX for the lightning with Greg McCarron-Shipman and the car, building the supernatural effects to sit deliberately in retro.

The brief was 80s B-movie, so the VFX leaned into the era's hand-made effects, the kind of supernatural glow and dimensional warp you'd find in a late-night creature feature, played with affection rather than polish.
