The Breeam Awards

The opening film for the BREEAM Awards, BRE's annual celebration of the world's most sustainable buildings. A piece extending BRE's new identity into a live awards environment, built around construction and assembly.
Project Details
Following the BRE rebrand, I was commissioned to create the opening film for the BREEAM Awards ceremony, celebrating the achievements of the organisation and its partners. The project was developed with Chris Nuelle of Rare and Simon Goodall of &Then Associates, who brought me on following earlier work within the BRE brand.
The film began with simple architectural primitives, cubes, beams and window forms, emerging in isolation before progressively combining into more complex structures. These accumulated into fully realised buildings, a sequence built to read as growth and collective effort.
The material treatment evolved from the identity's earlier glass-based explorations, holding continuity with the wider brand while scaling up for a live awards stage. Alongside the long-form film, I delivered high-resolution stills refined from the 3D sequences for event collateral and communications.

Concept
The film used construction as a visual metaphor. Starting from the simplest architectural primitives and assembling them into complete buildings, the work mirrored the awards themselves, individual pieces of effort coming together into something built. It grounded the ceremony in the work it recognises, while extending the 3D and motion language of the BRE identity into a new, larger-scale context.
