BMW 3 Series

A commercial for the BMW 3 Series, built around in-camera projections that interact physically with the car.
Project Details
I was brought on by Electric Theatre Collective to work on FCB Inferno's commercial for the BMW 3 Series. The brief centred on in-camera experiential projection, content designed to physically interact with the vehicle and be captured on camera rather than added later.
I designed and developed the facial scan sequence, the door light animations and the dynamic light streaks filmed reflecting across the bonnet. These also fed the light tunnel sequence in compositing, keeping continuity between the practical effects and the post-produced ones. Alongside the projection work, I designed and animated the in-car dashboard interface, balancing brand precision with cinematic clarity.
I was invited onsite in Barcelona for the 3 day shoot, working closely with director Raf Wathion and VFX supervisor Simon Brown to refine how the projected content performed in camera.

Commercial
Projected onto the real car and shot in camera, the facial scan, door lights and bonnet streaks caught the light and reflections of the actual surface. The post work was matched to that base, so practical and digital read as a single effect.
