Project Details

Kylie Minogue performed at The Fashion Awards in a collaboration with Richard Quinn, bringing live music together with couture stage design. Creative direction was led by Aries Moross with Rob Sinclair. The brief was a visual language that complemented Quinn's bold silhouettes and print-heavy aesthetic without overpowering the garments.

The stage was formed from four screens arranged like the sides of a cube, with the two front panels lifting at the start to reveal the full stage and performers. I developed the screen visuals, built around evolving polka-dot systems that reinterpreted Quinn's signature pattern language through a range of animation techniques.

The content was tightly synchronised to the choreography: the dots shifted in scale, density and rhythm to follow the dancers, so the screen, the garments and the movement read as one. A restrained palette and precise timing kept the fashion central while the motion amplified the structure of the performance.

The idea was to let the screen speak Quinn's language. His signature polka dots became the building block of the motion, shifting in scale, density and rhythm in dialogue with the choreography, so garment, dancer and screen moved as one. The restraint was deliberate: a tight palette and exact timing kept the clothes at the centre, with the motion shaping the performance around them rather than competing for attention.
